The first step of any project is for the client to articulate the general needs of the website or software application to be developed, maintained, or converted. The initial consultation is free and can be made via telephone, e-mail or, if you are in the Atlanta, Asheville or Chattanooga areas, in person. This is where you tell Boland Consulting what you need, and we tell you how we can help! For simple websites and software applications, we can then write up an estimate based on the information we've provided one another and present it to you within three to five days.

Complex software systems or web applications may require a detailed design document that completely describes the problem and the archictecture of the system before an estimate can be given. A detailed design document provides the comfort that all the unknown issues have been investigated. A document of this type can take 1-4 weeks for completion and can be paid for on either an hourly or fixed price basis.
